A certain Australian Islamic preacher says: “Congratulating them is more severe and hated than congratulating someone for drinking khamr, or for committing murder, or committing adultery and so on… They do not realize the ugliness of their action. A person who congratulates for sin … would be liable to the anger of Allah… It is worse to say to somebody ‘merry Christmas,’ than to say to somebody who was committing zina [fornication], drinking alcohol, gambling, doing all those things that are major sin… It would be better that you should do it. It would be better saying ‘happy drinking’ than to say to somebody ‘merry Christmas…’”
(Abu Ousayd – Australian Salafi Scholar, 16 Dec. 2022, Australia-Based Imam: Saying ‘Merry Christmas’ A Terrible Sin, Al Madina Dawah Centre, MEMRI) “MEMRI [Middle East Media Research Institute] … these video clips are provided … to better educate and inform. Material about the statements of terrorists and extremists is provided to alert the public to threats and in no way constitutes an endorsement of such activities.”
An Australian Prime Minister labeled ISIS a death cult. But Ousayd thinks it not so bad. Shall I respond “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch?” But I say to everybody happy Christmas, and to everybody “be sober” as the Apostle Paul instructs us to “be sober” and “be sober” (1 Thess. 5:6, 8).
Interestingly from 2003, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak decreed that Christmas shall become a public holiday (7 January by Coptic calendar).
Matt. 2:10 “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.” The wise men and Mary (Mathew 2:10 and Luke 1:28) were very much happy, mega cheerio, about the Lord Jesus being born. So then why would we not also say “Happy Christmas” too?!
Christ can save me and Ousayd and everybody else from their sins.
Matthew 1:21 “She shall give birth to a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is He who shall save His people from their sins.”
